 Abstract:  Photographs and negatives, primarily prints, glass plate, nitrate, and acetate negatives, but also a few travel stereographs, cabinet cards, cartes-de-visite, and daguerreotypes, mostly relating to the Overson family of St. Johns, Arizona, along with some of townspeople, buildings, and special occasions. There are a few portraits of people taken by Charles Jarvis, circa 1890 to 1910. More were taken by his daughter, Margaret Jarvis Overson, circa 1920 to 1960. A small amount were taken by other photographers and by her adult children, especially Eva M. Overson Tanner. The images include mostly unidentified people, family, student class groups, school athletic teams, and a few celebrations and street scenes. Photographs also include Mormon schools, school groups, church groups and church leaders.

 Abstract:  The Story papers collection consists of several different serialized newspapers that were targeted towards youth and teen readers. Story papers are periodical works that often include serialized fiction, grand illustrations, and smaller stories. These stories were read widely prior to World War II and could be purchased individually--usually for a penny, nickel, or dime--or could be subscribed to on a yearly basis.

 Abstract:  Consists of photocopies of transcripts of interviews with fifty-six low income and minority women. Includes a Master Index by Patricia Seavey, with an introductory essay by Karen Anderson. The indexes to the collection are organized by racial/ethnic group, geographic area, and subject. The topics of the interviews concern the diversity in the lives of women mainly in their work experiences, especially labor struggles, the health care professions, and family lives, particularly problems of family violence. The interviews were conducted by Fran Leeper Buss between 1976 and 1990. They were transcribed as a collaborative project, directed by Janice Monk, of The Southwest Institute for Research on Women and The Schlesinger Library on the History of American Women.
